Raila Odinga, alias Baba’s supporters came out yesterday in big numbers to celebrate his 77th birthday with legislators and followers holding a huge birthday party for Baba in the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi. The party saw Azimio la Umoja supporters congregate in Bomas and celebrate Baba’s 77th birthday in what was a political rally cum birthday party.
A Synchronized Cake Cutting Ceremony
The cake cutting for the birthday was done at 11:47 AM when it is believed was the exact time Raila Odinga was born 77 years ago. Numerous supporters in locations countrywide cut the birthday cakes during this particular time in celebration.
Baba’s Birthday Party at the Bomas of Kenya
In Nairobi, Baba was overjoyed with him being fed a piece of his birthday cake and gave an energetic and passionate speech concerning his dream or ‘Azimio’ for the country.

Raila said that the general election this year will be Kenya’s moment to step up and become a nation of prosperity and justice. His supporters, on the other hand, led by Kieni MP Kanini Kega vowed that the next birthday party will be held in the State House with Raila as the new president come 2023. Critics, however, say that Raila Odinga is too old to be contesting for the presidential seat. There are also fears that even when elected, he may not make it to a second term.

Baba Announces his Campaign Team
Baba announced his candidacy on 10th December last year and has since named his election campaign team. The team will feature governors and some of his closest allies in a bid to see him emerge as the victor in the election.
